Abstract
The topic of this research work is the stock control: A tool for the attainment of organizational objectives. The situation that gives rise to this work was as a result of problems of inadequate and inefficient stock control found among manufacturing industries in Nigeria. The work is divided into five chapters. Chapter one deals with introduction, background of the study, scope of the study, research question, state of hypothesis, significant of the study, limitations of the study and definition of terms. Chapter two deals with the review of different literature. What manufacturing companies think about the contribution of stock control in their organization. Chapter three talks about design and methodology, source of data, research approach, research instrument, population of the study, sample method, sample size, method of data analysis. While chapter four shows how data were presented and analyzed. Finally, recommendation and conclusion. I, therefore recommend for efficient stock control to be properly maintained in manufacturing industries. There should be adequate segregation of duties as to the counting of stock. The counting normally should not be done by the same person responsible for custody of the stock. A second count should be compared by a third and different person and this will facilitate accuracy in counting. It should be stacked in a neat file.
