Abstract
The various means used to raise funds represent the financial structure of the enterprise. Capital structure constitutes a substantial part of an organization and therefore, the way in which it is managed will have an impact on the profitability of the company concerned. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of capital structure on firm performance in Dana Steel Rolling Company Katsina. Also, the research will examine the impact of short-term and long-term debt on firms’ performance. The research will also give the management of firms a better understanding of the optimal capital structure to adopt. Also, investors and fund providers through this research work will have an understanding of capital structure and know which firm will be more profitable to invest in. In addition, this research will stand as a bridge for further research work. Researchers will use this for reference purposes. And students will benefit from this research work as it will help them understand the concept of capital structure better. This research would also contribute to a better understanding of the analytical technique using multiple regression analysis in examining the impact of capital structure on a firm’s performance in Nigeria.
