Abstract
This project focuses on the impact of employee training and development in tertiary institutions – case study of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic. This research project was necessitated of the over increasing productivity of business organizations to rely heavily on training as a major instrument both for the promotion of their organization and or product or service and enhancement of their staff performance of that product. This project consists of five chapters, the first chapter consist of general introduction, background of the study, statement of the research problem, objectives of the study, significance of the study, hypothesis, scope and limitations of the study, methodology and scheme of chapters. Chapter two consists of training and development, identifying, training needs, planning training, types of training, methods, importance of training, evaluation of training and environmental factors affecting training and development. Chapter three consists of historical background of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara. Chapter four consists of data analysis, testing and hypothesis, finding the research study. Chapter five consists of summary, conclusion, recommendation and references.
