Abstract
This research work is designed to show that the best companions in the management of any transport is a good accounting system with particular emphasis on ABC transport company. It is worthy to say that good accounting system is really maintained in most privately owned companies in Nigeria. Only a few among them lack good accounting system. Hence, this project strives to show that good accounting system exists in most private companies. This discussion in this project is done in five chapters, reading in summary, conclusion and recommendations. In order to achieve success on the study, various types of data collection methods were used like questionnaire, face to face interview which were basically for the primary data and secondary data I obtained from library collections. The statistical instrument that was used in the analysis of data collected is the sample percentage method. Also, there are some weakness identified in the accounting system and plugging the opposes therein, by making sure that every staff of the company is fully conscious of his or her role in the operation of good accounting system. Splitting the accounting system according to various units, to be coordinated by trained accounting personnel to ensure appropriate control and accountability..
