Abstract

This research work investigates the role of women in nation-building. Data were collected through questionnaire method from 350 respondents from the selected wards in Bida local government Area (Cheniyan ward, Dokoza ward,Wadata ward, Nasarafu ward and ma’asaba ward). The data were tested using Chi-square analysis. The study revealed that inadequate education given to women in Nigeria as of culture constitutes a major barrier to the participation of women in Nation building. The study, therefore, recommends that the role of women in society should not be undermined. Right priority should be given to girls from primary schools to tertiary institutions so as to become leaders of tomorrow.
