Abstract
This work appraises the role banks play in micro-financing in Nigeria and the efforts of government in achieving the scheme and prospects. However, this work is being done to solve the problem of poor funding, operational results and also to bring an end to unsatisfactory performance of community banks. The main aim of this work is to analyze the role played by microfinance banks in the development of the Nigeria economy. The major sources of data for this research work were primary and secondary sources. A sample size of (20) was picked out using the random sampling technique by apply yare Hamman formula in the presentation of figures. Finding from the respondents were critically analyzed and the hypothesis formulated were tested with chi-square. Finally, the development to be certain and for large business to exist, micro industries must be encouraged, financial and managed as they grow to become large industries and turn over economy into industrialized nation, this is the findings of this unique work and the recommendation of this work are numerous but the most important one is to give the active poor a sense of belonging and a reward for the contributes towards the economy
