Design and implementation of an online booking system – a case study of Peace Mass Transit

Abstract This project is aimed at presenting the design and implementation process of a system that provides the necessary program module of a web-based transport booking system to improve speed, reliability and accurate processing of data in the company’s daily operation. The world has become a global place today and the computer has come to play actively in virtually every area of business that is why this topic has been chosen to see hoe computer can eliminate the problems of queue, lack of proper storage of data and the likes arising from suing manual booking/reservation system. Since the computerization of this system requires the use of an automated on-line system capable of providing necessary modules to maintain transportation is also explained. The reservation system of transport in Nigeria can be improved by designing a program to maintain the reservation of seat and ticketing processes. Therefore this research work will be of great benefit to all kinds of transportation industries, student’s researchers, etc.
