Abstract
This research is on Roles of equipment availability on employee performance in the hotel industry. The main objectives of the study are to determine the role of equipment availability on employee performance in the hotel industry, and to identify the main objective, problem and impact equipment availability in the work area, to help improve the performance of the employee and enrich the reputation of the hotel industry. The study utilized a qualitative design in a descriptive approach and applies a survey and observation method. A survey will be conducted to determine the factors that cause the inadequacy of equipment availability on employee performance. And to determine whether both levels of employee performance has a significant effect on achieving maximum production in the hotel and the role of equipment availability has a significant effect on employee performance in the hotel. Also, observation to examine the operating procedures of the employees. The study focused on specific selected hotels in the Ikorodu metropolis. The study targets the staff and employees working at selected hotels in Ikorodu metropolis. Due to this, purposive sampling is the technique that will be used because the researchers will focus on the employees under the hotels, and will apply the following methods to observe the employees’ performance. The result of the study states that the productivity of the employees is highly affected as well as the proper procedure of the job, length of work time, and labor outcome if there is the inadequacy of equipment available in the hotel industry. It is suggested that the hotel must provide equipment to its employees to achieve maximum production.
