Abstract
This study, audience perception of media messages in managing COVID-19 lockdown among Warri residents” was aimed at analyzing how residents reacted to messages concerning the COVID-19 outbreak and the information they received. The survey research design was adopted and the main instrument for data collection was the questionnaire. This consisted of 300 respondents who were residents of Warri. The findings of the study were the media messages strategies adopted by the media were able to satisfy the audience, the media adopted strategies in order to avoid violence. The study recommended that media messages need to be more concerned with prevention, and there should be regular orientation courses for media message personnel..
