DescriptionCHAPTER ONE GENERAL INTRODUCTION 1.1 INTRODUCTION Before the advent of computer in Nigeria manufacturing firms, just like other areas of the society were used to manual method operation. This is to say, the operation which involves the production, transaction, customer registration stock system and balancing of account were carried out manually. And without any doubt this manual method of operation is very slow unreliable of operation is very and prone to error and mistakes. In view of this, several attempt and efforts have been made by various organization as well as higher institution of learning on developing or more formidable in every day application of new technology in over day to day activities. In March, 1995 a student of secretariat administration of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin carried out a research project on the ?IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON THE OFFICE?. A project which deal elaborately on the application of machines such as photocopier, typewriter etc. the effective running of an organization. In December 2000 a student of accounting at the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, carried out research project on a ?DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR A MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY?. Project work covers aspect such as production sectors, sales and accounting sector of the organization, but using a manual approach and decision making for a manufacturing industry. In view of this, therefore, I declared to build it at and improve the previous attempt made by others in the application of technology and a decision, support through application on a specific computer programming language in ?DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR A MANUFACTURING SYSTEM? A case study of International Tobacco Company Plc Ilorin. 1.2 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The fact that the exiting system holds a great deal of stock and balance of account that no one including the management wents. And most of the mistakes is stock system customer registration and balance of account cannot be corrected within a year of it eventually postponed this delays some certain decision to be taken by the management of the company. Thus, there is need for reform in the decision support system used by the company. Decision Support System is an interactive system that Support Decision Making Increase sales and can be used in solving users problems. The overall objectives of the decision support system is to support decision making and giving a correct customer registration and stock system so that combined lost, cost of holding stock and stock put cost are at a minimum level. This is done by establishing the following factors how to prepare how the customer registration and stock system report, how to record credit sales how to give total turn over allowance and withdraws of goods from stocks and to when release goods. It becomes tedious and complex when it is done manually. This is a reason why it is felt the present system should by analyze either feasible considered. The project will be carried out in a way to have up to one objective which are listed below, so that it acts as guidance for the project work. 1. To describe the exiting system and to find a formidable solution to their various problem envisage in the system. 2. Go as much as possible eradicable various manual processes that are reparative. 3. To improve the updating modification and presentation of the various report needed. 1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY Decision reports system is the operation of continuous decision, making is giving out to the customer so that the stock system are adequate to support the current role of demands with due regards to the economy. Generally, since the advent to computer in the world the general awareness of its potential capacity as a useful tools, has grown steadily, this development has manifested itself in several ways and different forms. Today, computer turn up almost every where and eventually there is no human activity which is not found useful. Since most business are faced with large volume of data to process and most of these data used to be processed, quickly and accurately in order to give useful information to the officer concern and which will be used in decision making for instance, if a supervisor officers needs to know how money have been received, how much is spent on salaries and at the same time, how many goods are in stocks. Computer performs operation with high speed processed information with accurate efficiency and reduces the paper work and sitting cost. And this facts goes a long way in increasing the patronage, profit and reduces the losses and the production. 1.4 METHODOLOGY Before collection of any data at all, its is very important to know exact what the collection is all about. One must therefore establish whether data would be collected from the whole population of part of the phenomena above which the information can be collected. In this project, however the sample where the information is supposed to be collected is International Tobacco Company Plc Ilorin However, looking at the number of the location company throughout the entire nation, one would discover that it would difficult for a researcher to collect information from the manufacturing location to get accurate information. Therefore, the sampling technique is employed and as sample is selected on the basis of rational thinking. Fro the purpose of this study, the Head of Office of International Tobacco Company Plc Ilorin is taken into consideration. The concerned officers of the Company were interviewed and conclusion through these interviewed and observation, the researcher arrived at the sub segment conclusion. 1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATION The day to day decision made by the stock system of account controller determines in a very directory way the investment in stocks and services offered to customer. Thus the scope of the study focuses its attention on the customer registration and stock system department of the company. The department which have a great impact in decision making and the system involves the following process: ? Assessing the number of goods to be supplied to customer. ? Deciding the extent of goods be held in stock daily. ? Regulating the number of goods produced in one factory/ ? Regulating the issue of stock from the store. Although this project work is done under the thorough supervision and proper research to achieve the aims of easing the problems of data entry processing of customer order in International Tobacco Company Plc, Ilorin. It is only limited to the Head Office alone, however it can be further developed enter for networking system, though it caters for relate calculation but this varies depending on the rate. However, it can still be expended on further improvement. 1.6 ORGANIZATION OF THE REPORT The study which is on decision support system for a manufacturing firm covers a vital aspect. Apart from the certification, dedication, acknowledgment, abstract the project work consist of five broad chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which covers areas such as aims and objective significance of the study methodology, scope and limitation and organization current state of the act of the company. The second chapter is on literature review, which deal elaborately on the case study historical background company technical terms and computerization current state of the art of the company. The third chapter of study deals explicitly on the analysis of the existing system, description of current procedure, problems of existing system, description of proposed system and advantages of the proposed system of the company. The fourth chapter focuses on the explanation of design of the system implementation on the system and documentation on the system. The last chapter of the study is the summary and conclusion and it also covers areas such as recommendation experience gained and reference for the efficiency of the research work. Besides the appendix system flowchart program flowchart sources program listings and computer outputs were also designed at the end of the project work. ? One of the current developments in the information sector that will greatly affect business (improve business and society) is greatly increased computer literacy of leaders and general population which will make computerization transition seamless. That is, the use of computer in any process has been applied in virtually all spheres of human Endeavour. It has equally found wide application in both the private and the public sectors of the economy. In Nigeria, today there is no gain saying revenue for government, we hear and see computerization project in NITEL, NEPA, and so on; the government has so decided on these project because of their long run advantages over current manual techniques. In fact, no meaningful society today can exist and function efficiently without an element of computerization in the processing system. It was based on the above point and advantages inherent in computerization that the researcher decides to embark on the study. In order to improve this revenue so as to provide essential services, the government should be encouraged to computerize its personnel income tax collection medium as well as embark on computerized audit procedures to determine or ensure actual compliance to revenue provision and standards. To achieve this task, in Abia state, the state board of internal revenue, the sole agent for revenue generation should properly equipped with modern computers and computer literate personnel needed to carry out the doctrines of assessment as well as auditing. The manual auditing procedure and techniques currently being employed in the auditing of personnel income taxes has negative effect on clients (agents) as well as employees, more especially under critical situation such as limited tune frame to computer audit exercise. The manual process can only produce reports after a long period of time that may not be less than two weeks; these delays will mean delayed revenue to the state. Also it could lead to a situation where fatigue could discourage a thorough job by the auditors. We have to note that computer is a system which is not subjects to fatigue as a human being and can perform several jobs the same dexterity as the first job executed. The manual system of auditing also creates an opportunity for some corrupt tax officials to manipulate and falsify in order to see undue advantage. All this problem with others mentioned above generate the need for the automation of the audit procedure involved in personnel income tax system in Abia state. Basically, the computerization components should provide technical assistance in the design, programming, listing and the complementation of a comprehensive computerized auditing system of personnel income tax administration. 1.2. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY. This study was conceptualized on the premise that the statutory allocation formula which has remained at 24% to the state has continued to dawdle in relation terms thereby leaving the state to look inwards for internally generated revenue. That being the case efforts should be made towards changing the present manual system of tax audit so as to maximize the revenue yield available to the government. Lance the issue of misplacement of records, alteration of facts and figure and usher in improved services by tax officials. The implementation of a computerize approach could also lead to efficiency in the use of government resources as well as reducing tax evasion. 1.3. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM. Auditing of personnel income system in Abia state board of internal revenue is done manually at present and stored in audit working. Sheets kept in files. The monitoring unit of the board usually stores it. The accumulation of this document in files creates low of storage problem as in lack of space, cost of fumigation to prevent attack from insect, cost of cleaning and shelving. Equally some of the problems posed by the manual system are: - Time consumed in retrieving clients (agents) record in subsequent years (that is searching for records). The methods of updating files making the whole exercise cumbersome and boring. There could be mistake in calculating taxpayers? income as well as taxes due from them. In order words, there could be a problem of wrong assessment; there could be delays per say in publishing audit reports due to so many processes and complicity of procedure involved (there is easy sensibility of the records of taxation other than the personnel that prepared it. There is lack of efficiently in the utilization of resource in the course of audit exercise. 1.4. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY The objectives of the study are to create a new computer base system to solve problems associated with manual system. These objectives are ? To provide an efficient computer base system for easier documentation updating and retrieval of data about taxable of data about taxable employer of about in Abia state. ? To modernize the auditing system so that efficiency can be realized. ? To give a more accuracy and timely information for government decision making. ? To provide facilities for quick access to stored data giving at random in other to assist in management functions. ? To store the confidence of employer of labor in the personnel income tax system of Abia state. ? To eliminate all forms of corruption in personnel income tax auditing. ? To enhance the efficiency of the tax auditors by reducing the volume of manual operations of their disposal. ? To reduce the role of tax evasion among employers of labor. ? To eliminate piles of dusty physical files in the offices thereby keeping the office neat and a very healthy environment to work. ? Enhance the processes of auditing personnel income taxpayers and hence provide immediate result on any operation required on a tax payer?s file. ? In case of replacement or stranger personnel, it provide modern sophisticated information system which supplies both environmental and internally generated information to new personnel. 1.5. IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY Since the concept of the world as a global village emerged in the 90?s there has been a rapid development of computer technology in virtually all fields of human Endeavour. An analogy between manual systems and computer systems provides a starting point for management both in private and public sector understanding of computer systems. This development has laid to the advancement of information management and hence necessitated the need to computerize that tax auditing system to meet with the present day needs of the government. This research will equally analyze the present manual system of tax auditing and design a new system to solve the inadequacy inherent accurate and efficient means of tax auditing in Abia state. The new system to be installed will have all the advantage of the computerize system which includes time, flexibility, interactivity and creating a good database. 1.6. SCOPE OF THE STUDY The scope of this project is personnel income tax auditing in Abia state board of internal revenue due to the level of information technology in Nigeria, especially Abia state. There will be some manual operation to complete the auditing process area such as notification of auditing exercise will still be performed manually. Due to the time constraint as this project is for academic purpose leading to the award of national diploma (ND) after two years of academic excellence. The auditing of pay_ as_ you earn tax payers will be covered in the new system (case study). 1.7. LIMITATION OF THE STUDY. This project work was faced with a number of restricting factors, which made the work impossible to get beyond this scope. The most pressing factors were:- i. lack of finance ii. epileptic power supply iii. inadequate supply of data iv. Inadequate time for the project work. 1.7. DEFINITION OF TERMS AUDIT WORKING PAPERS:- these are columns sheet of paper on which records of incomes of employees of the audited companies organizations are made. They are source record documents at the top right corner of the working papers are provisions for the schedule number, name of person who prepared the working paper and the dates of the preparation. At the top left corner of the working paper is made up of serial number column 2 for names of employees, columns 3 for basic salary. Column 4-15 are for the months from January to December while column 16 is allowed two rows and handle uses of maximum of twenty (20) employees per sheet of 40 rows, the second row of the two rows per employee is used to record monthly tax deducted. IT FORM-INCOME TAX FORM A:- according to A.C. Tabansi (2000) a. this is a form given to eligible tax payers to complete and return to the tax for their assessment on which the personnel income tax audit is based. It consists of six (6) parts named A to F. details range from personnel data of tax payers to source of income as well finally declaration and attestation to the truism of the declared income and information contained in the form. PERSONNEL INCOME TAX:- A.C. TABANSI,(2000) explains it by saying that this represents taxes on the emoluments of employees of companies, organization and establishments. It includes the basic salary and other components such as tent, transport allowance, entertainment and other subject to a stipulated limit that is determined from government legislations. The government has been able to use tax to control; inflation and other economic problems. SYSTEM:- this is an overused word that has several meaning to various groups of people G.D Clarke Defines a SYSTEM as an organized set of objects, elements or components that are interrelated and interdependent and have a common set of basic objective such as production and satisfaction. He opined that the elements of any system are:- i. input. ii. Output iii. Process iv. Boundaries v. Subsystem vi. Environment MONITORING UNIT:- as written in the hand book this is the unit in charge of personnel income tax audit in Abia state board of internal revenue. It is headed by a principle interceptor of taxes who works in liaison with chairman board of internal revenue through the director direct taxes. He is assisted by several tax inspectors with accounting and management bias, as well as electrical officers who carry out routine assignments needed in the day to day running of the unit. IT FORM 45:- as contained in A.C. Tabansi (2000) this is an acknowledgement slip prepared by the sender of a letter and signed by both the recipient and sender in which the recipient acknowledge the receipt of a letter requesting him to supply facts necessary for tax audit report is to be submitted as well as correspondences established between the board and outside parties. IT FORM F3 (TAX DEDUCTION CARD):- also in A.C Tabansi (2000), the IT form f3 is a card prepared and the payer assessment section of the tax office and gives the employers of labour a guide to normal income tax deductions. The taxes deductible is based on the income declaration form. The employees gross earning, gross relief, gross tax due and monthly tax deductions are stated on the card. The tax card is given to the employee who uses it to make deductions of taxes during the year. at the end of the year, these card are batched and returned to the various tax offices in company of form H1 that is the annual return. AUDITING:- in defining auditing it will be good to see how Ngwakwe C.1998 defines auditing; audit is a Latin word meaning ?He hears? conventionally of records and draft account produced by companies/organizations by tax auditors to enable the auditors form opinions as to the adequacy or inadequacies of the system. It also helps in ascertaining the extent of compliances to lay down rules and regulations. The end result as required by law is for the auditor to put himself in a position where he can express an opinion concerning. ? The profit and loss account of the company. ? The balance sheet gave a true fair view of the financial position at the year end. ? If the financial statement comply with the law.ABSTRACT The manual approach used in the regulation of the school activities by the management board is very tedious and stressful. This research work investigated into the complications encountered due to the debilitation of man-power admitted into the school management with respect to how indepth it affects other operational system that conduct in school with a view of designing a computerized system to handle the work with less difficulty for an effective decision-making. In the course of the study, an existing system was digested and its deficiencies were detected and emphatically analysed, after which solutions to the problems were proffered in the new designed computerized system that is reliable and more interactive. The new system terminates all the problems experienced with the existing system. The case study is Post-Primary School Management Board (PPSMB) Enugu.Abstract voter registration systems supplement the traditional paper-based process, by which new voters fill out a paper form that is submitted to election officials, who confirm the registration is valid, and enter the information from the paper application into the registration system. Online voter registration follows essentially the same process, but instead of filling out a paper application, the voter fills out a form via an Internet site, and that paperless form is submitted electronically to election officials. In most states the application is reviewed electronically; if the request is confirmed to be valid, the new registration is added to the state?s voter registration list. That validation step is done by comparing the information on the online registration form against the information provided by the same individual when he or she received a driver?s license or other state-issued identification card. The signature already on record with the state becomes the signature on record for voting. When the information does not a match, the application is sent to officials for further review or action. Online systems are not equipped to register voters who do not have state-issued driver?s licenses or identification cards. Those voters, or any voters who care to, can use a paper registration formABSTRACT This project was centered on card based security system. The current process of security is being operated manually and due to this procedure numerous problem are been encountered. A design was taken to computerized the manual process in order to check this problem. The problems were identified after series of interviews and examination of documents after which analysis was made and a computerized procedure recommended. This project will also suggest how to successfully implement the computerized procedure and to overcome the obstacle that would hinder the successful implementation of the system. The new system was designed using Microsoft visual basic 6.0 programming language. This language was chosen because of its easy syntax and features for developing windows based applications.

It could be referred to as a process designed for the acquisition and dissemination of skills and knowledge to the posterity of the nation. The identified system tends to be implemented in diverse dimensions basically in schools. For the past ten years, it has been discovered that schools are not what they were as attributed to the wide ranging changes which have occurred and brought new pressure associated with increased size. On the account of this, an increasing complexity of organization has been instigated so that stresses and anxieties of choice have been added to those of dimension. The competent educational administration constitute the intensity of education and its impediments mount a disturbing diffusion and obscuring of purpose and all these changes concede with a major recruiting of curriculum and methodology. In most cases, the manual method adopted in monitoring some school activities undermine other roles like enrolment of students, computation of student?s result, examination supervision and making of examination scripts. With regard to the discrepancies created by the manual techniques of school administration, the school management board should devise a competitive means of achieving their set objective in a computerized educational administrative information system. 1.2 AIMS/OBJECTIVES The basic aim of the study is to provide a lasting solution to the problems emanated from the manual means of school management. They are as follows: - To produce a system which tends to increase the predictability of the organization by assessing critically its obsolescence in relation to fresh challenges. - To produce a reliable system that would coordinate most of the school activities. - To produce a flexible and comprehensive system that would meet up with the future development in the school. - To design and develop a computerized system that would handle the execution of school activities most especially post-primary schools so as to liquidate all the problems identified with the existing system. 1.2.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The sudden increase in the number of students enroll in each school has transcended the manipulation of the existing system used by the school administrators and this prompted a lot of problems which encompass the inaccurate computation of students result by the staffs on the account of non-availability of adequate number of computer systems for the computation. This is a very ugly development. Also, it was very complicated to observe when the enrolment of students should cease since there was no efficient system for the estimation of enrolment ratio to give a signal when the enrolment tends to move beyond the projection. All these and more are encountered due to the debilitation of the prevailing system used. It was very difficult to point out students who cheat in the course of examination as attributed to the non-standard measure used in the supervision of the examination. The staff complained seriously on the unnecessary stress encountered while marking the examination answer scripts manually. 1.3 JUSTIFICATION OF THE STUDY The implementation of this computerized system would definitely stimulate the school standard. This would as well help the management to ease the burden on the staff which would be on the benefit of students and staffs. It is also a basic study for research and for the entire populace and future researchers. 1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY This study covered the substantive solution to the problems generated by the existing system used in the school administration and management. However, the case study is post-primary school management board (PPSMB) Enugu. 1.5 METHODOLOGY On account of time, she adopted only 2 procedures of capturing data for the study. Those 2 procedures encompass. A) INTERVIEW METHOD:- During the interview conducted in the post-primary school management board. The research interviewed the director of school supervisor on the nature of duty conducted in schools she had supervised with special reference to the examination coordination and supervision, enrolment ratio for the admission of students in school. The director of administration department was equally interrogated based on the obligation and dereliction of the management board towards the growth of education observed in schools with little assistance from some of the staffs. The response to the questions enabled the researcher to take off. B) REFERENCES TO WRITTEN DOCUMENT: - In spite of the interview took place in the PPSMB, the researcher extended her collection of data to the written document as a result of inadequacy from the responsiveness of the interview. The researcher had to visit Enugu State and National Library for more information and references from already written text on educational administration varying more emphasis on school administration and management. The information from this specified method made the successful completion of this study possible.CHAPTER ONE BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY 1.1 INTRODUCTION Voting is a means of selecting or choosing leaders. It does not apply only to local governments, states and federal government of Nigeria but also in different institutions and social organizations. Therefore, the conduct of elections in a democratic society is very important not only because through it a change of government is effected but also because voting is the main form of political participation for most people for democracy to be sound and smooth, it should be enhanced on election free from fraud. Many centuries ago, most societies were societies were primitive and had not evolved a system of voting to elect the leaders that will govern then and promote societal harmony and peace. This means that people have to devise a system whereby a leader or a set of leaders have elected from the ranks of the people. At that point the idea of voting and being voted for became important and necessary. But before an individual can cast his or her vote, there are certain conditions to be met, one of which is to be registered as a voter. Since independence in 1960, the Nigeria political scene has witnessed incessant upheavals, wide scale dishonesty and societal bitterness, which in most instances, degenerated into lawlessness and destruction of lives and property. Theses unfortunate situations paved the way for and served as spring boards for the emergence and growth of unskilled democrats and military leaders in the governance of the nation. Many Nigeria?s are disappointed that a post independent 46years-old Nigeria is still operating constitution which does not enjoy an overwhelming national acceptance, as evident in the persistent calls for the convocation of a sovereigns national conference on the one hand, and the growing demand for ethnic nationalities on the other. For about four and half decades since independence, the nation had shifted position between parliamentary and presidential system of government, with several military in cursions into polities over the years. Even the present presidential democratic dispensation is still undergoing experimentation with varying degrees of trial and error approach. It is in the light of the foregoing, that this project on voter registration, is written to serve as a useful tool of enlightenment in the hands of voters, the electorate and the general public. However, voter registration is a critical aspect of the electoral process. A credible voters register is a prelude to free and fair elections. It is also important for people to know is qualified to vote, where, when and how to vote. Also, a full knowledge of the registration procedure will encourage eligible voters to participate in the electoral process. 1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The inefficiency of voting process in Enugu has resulted in a lot of problems. These problems have continued to obstruct the peace of democracy in Enugu because the choice of a capable candidate is not encourage by the current system. The problems could be emendated as follows. - The high incidence of multiple voting massive transferred of ballot papers and forging of electoral papers using fictitious names. Indiscrete manipulation and inflation of election figures by electoral commission officers to suit the interest of their favoured candidates. - Thuggery operation, fear of intimidation and victimization and smuggling of ballot papers into the ballot boxes. - The fragile nature of some ballot boxes make them vulnerable to destruction - Lost of votes due to either wrong voting or the case of any of accident occurring during transporting of the statement of result forms and other electoral materials to the collation centers. - The delay in the generation and announcement of the results which gives room for other manipulations. Therefore, there should be change for data handling. 1.3 PURPOSE OF STUDY The purpose of design and implementation of a web based voters registration system is to 1. Design a voter registration system which will help to improve the voters system 2. Implement a web voters registration system. 3. Improve the standard of vote registration 4. Avoid unnecessary delay in vote registration. 5. Update the voters registration roll without bribery and conspiracy. 1.4 OBJECTIVES OF STUDY The main objectives of this project work is to design a fully web voter registration system which should be able to - Effectively carryout the task of voting automatically and timely. - Put to an end the indiscriminate alteration of election results by any officer of the electoral commission of Enugu. This will inculcate discipline in the commission and promote their independence. - Secure ballot papers and elections results from any accident what server and to quickly detect any defaced ballot paper or a ballot paper that is wrongly plumb printed. - stop multiply or double voting, forgery in any shape or form and smuggling of ballot papers into ballot boxes. This will restore the integrity of votes cast in any election in Enugu state. - Generate accurate report and effect a sticks knowledge of election results using an on-line computer processing system. 1.5 SCOPE OF THE STUDY The study covers voting processes as it is done at the ward councillorship elections, local government chairmanship elections, the state house of assembly elections, the Gubernatorial elections the national house of parliamentary elections and presidential elections. It also inculcates the voters personal records, candidates personal records and voting procedures it covers election with at most five polling centers. 1.6 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY This study is limited by the restricted nature of the number of polling centers it cover. It does not represent a general election to cover the whole federation of Nigeria at the same time due to time constraints. Also there was limited time to effectively combine the research work with class study. It does not show the position (1st,2nd e.t.c) of candidate. 1.7 ASSUMPTIONS It is assumed that the implementation of the new system will rapidly improve the economic and the socio-political lives of the people of Enugu state. There will be no room for rigging and election malpractice. 1.8 DEFINITION OF TERMS VOTER ELECTION POLITICAL PARY BALLOT DEMOCRACY POLLING JUDICIARY ELECTORAL COMMISSION INEC ELECTORAL OFFICIALS POLL CLERK RESIDING OFFICER SUPERVISORY PRESIDING OFFICER COLLATION/RETURNING OFFICER POLL ASSISTANT/ORDERLY NOTICE OF ELECTION PUBLICATION OF THE LIST OF CANDIDATES 1. In the USA, Luther George Sunsjan has been wrongly credited with developing and building the first cash dispenser machine. There is no evidence to suggest that Sunsjan worked in this device before 1959 while his 132nd patent was first filled in June 30, 1960 (and granted 26 February, 1963). The roll out of the machine, called bank graph, was delayed a couple of years. This was particularly due to Sunjlan?s reflection electronics being acquired by universal match cooperation. An experimental Bank graph was installed in New York City in 1961 by the bank of New York, but removed after 6 months due to the lack of customer?s acceptance. The bank graph, however embodied the pre-occupation by its banking in finding alternative means to capture deposits, while the concern of the European and Asian Bank was cash distribution. The first cash dispensing device used in Tokoyo in 1966. Although little known of this first device, it seems to have been activated with a credit and rather accessing current account balances. This technology has no immediate consequences in the international market 1972. In the UK, IBM (international business machine) 2984 was designed at the required of bank. The 2984 CIT (cash issuing terminal was the first cash poibt, similar in function till today?s machines; cash point is still registered trademark of TSB in the UK. All are online and issued a variable amount which was immediately deducted from the account. A small number of 2984?s were supplied to a US bank. Notable historical model of ATM?s include 10xx and TSB 900 series and NOR 50xx series. 1.1 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY To total aim of this project work is to implement a card ? based security for customer?s withdrawer using Eco Bank as a case study.
