Design and implementation of telephone directory system

Description

Abstract Telephone directory is very important to subscribers by helping them to know an individual’s name, address and location. However, the existing manual telephone directory system with MTN subscribers currently in place is plagued with problems of searching for an individual’s name and location. The need therefore arises to develop a web based telephone directory system that can be available to subscriber round the clock. The requirement of the system was analyzed using use case and data flow diagram. Afterward, the system was developed from the requirement statement using PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS as front end and MySQL as backend. The system was implemented and tested on the local Apache server running Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems. The system was found to be effective complement to MTN subscriber.
