Description
Effect of wind erosion and its control measures.
Abstract
Wind erosion affects agricultural land resulting in soil degradation by removing the finest particles predominantly, which contributes to the atmospheric dust load. The extent of wind erosion has increased in the last decade but there are still measures available to control and prevent the problem. Measures against wind erosion are manifold and can be into measures to reduce the surface wind speed and measures to increase the resistance of the soil surface. The primary goal of these measures is to ensure agricultural production, but soil protection measures covers also have environmental concerns. This project gives a brief preview of the most common measures to reduce wind erosion and dust emissions and discusses the possibilities and limitations to introduce these measures in the production process in the study area.
