Abstract

This research work titled“Fiscal Federalism and Development in Nigeria (A Study of Internal Board of Revenue, Taraba State)”, was investigated. The researcher set out the main objectives of the study which include evaluating the major challenges of fiscal federalism in Nigeria, assessing the underlying imperatives of fiscal federalism in Nigeria’s development, and examining how inter-governmental relations have been handled in Nigeria. To successfully carry out this research, three questions was formulated and structured questionnaires were designed based on the research questions with five-point scale as an instrument for data analysis. The survey design was adopted and the population of the study was 2200 respondents with a 338 sample size used. The method of data analysis was arithmetic mean which was used as statistical tool such as means for data analysis. Method of data collection, questionnaires were administered to the respondents and retrieved after completion personally by the researcher. At the completion of the work, the researcher made the following recommendations, the federal government should increase powers and resources devolution to the states and local communities. It should decrease her direct involvement in service delivery and make significant use of the state and local government to realize her policies through grants and control...
