Abstract
This project looks at Impact of communication skill on supervision and performance, case study of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. This research was designed to ascertain the role or impact of communication skills on the supervision and performance of tertiary institutions. The reference school is Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. Communication is defined as a process of transmitting and or receiving information. As a process, it involves a sender and a receiver. It is the basis for the existence of an organization. Institution as a social organization is made up of human and material resources interacting for a defined objective. Order instructions are therefore given. Telling people what to do and how to accomplish a given task. Feedback and reaction are also expected in most cases. Communication is an interpersonal process and therefore, requires a great deal of understanding among the parties involved. Communication becomes effective only when parties to the communication are willing to understand one another. Attitude of parties to one another particularly. Prejudice feelings of fear, hostility and distrust towards one another can impede communication.
