This research work focuses on The effect of communication on the productivity of library staff, case study of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo state. The work is centered on the information needs of industries especially in Rokana industry, which the researcher used as a case study. The researcher went ahead to distribute twelve questionnaires to the professional staff, which ten were later returned. The research found out from the result of the questionnaire that information needs of industries are partially satisfied because of lack of library/information center. There are findings on the sources of information the industrialist seeks for is mostly in newspapers and their colleagues. Problems encountered by the industrialist and then information behavior was observed during the study. There should be adequate finding to sources of information the industrialist need. Industries should build library for a relied information and relevant information.
