Abstract
This project looks at the Importance of computer to a secretary in an organization, a case study of ministry of education, Lokoja. This research is based on the examination and evaluation of the importance and contribution of computer to the secretarial studies in an organization and it also identifies the problems faced by secretaries while performing their duties and how the computer can eliminate such problems. To achieve the objectives of the study, questionnaires were distributed to twenty (20) respondents and were dully completed and retrieved within a week. Analysis was based on the question retrieved. From the analysis, it was revealed that the use of computer has assisted in solving some of the problems in the office as almost every work in the office is performed accurately and faster with the use of a computer. Based on the findings, it was recommended that from time to time, in-service training programmes should be arranged for the secretaries both in their field and other related ones so that they will always be up to date in knowledge/experiences.
