Abstract
This research work is on Information needs and information seeking behaviour of children in public libraries, a case study of Kwara State library board, Ilorin. The case study of Kwara State Library Board Ilorin. Chapter one, introduction, dealt with the Background to the study, information and children, background of the Kwara State Library Board Ilorin, aims and objectives, scope and limitation of study, significance to the study and operational definition of terms. Chapter two looks at the review of related literature based on the following, information, information needs information seeking behaviour, children, the child as future client information needs and wants of children and source of information to children. Chapter three, research methodology dealt with the survey method as chosen for the conduct of the researcher, research design, population of the study, samples and sampling techniques, instrument for data collection which include the questionnaire and interview schedule, distribution and collection of questionnaire and method of data presentation analysis and interpretation. Chapter four is the proper data presentation analysis and interpretation or findings which were based on children in Kwara State Library Board and staff of the children library. We used tables, percentages and figures to simplify and buttress our points. It covers all the findings and the data collection for the entire project. The chapter five is the conclusion and recommendation which tried to highlight the various techniques needed to enhance the performance of children in their various schools through identification of children needs, proper findings, and improvement in maddening of services to children.
