Abstract
This project looks at Statistical analysis of infant mortality in Afikpo south local government area from 2012– 2017. A non parametric approach was employed in the analysis. It was found that there was no significant different in infant mortality within the period under study. Also, there was no significant different in terms of sex. The infant mortality rate calculated showed closed figures in each year. Appropriate recommendations were made to further improve and to reduce infant mortality in Afikpo South L.G.A. Based on the available data, there was an induced number of death of children as the year went by. Also it is hoped that if all things being equal, there would be a time when there will be zero death of children in Afikpo South L.G.A.
