Abstract

This project looks at The federal character principle and merit system in Nigeria public service. This study is an investigation carried out in order to find the application of the principle of the Federal character of the merit system in Nigeria public administration. It also beneath effects that every section of the economy faces. Being a principle adopted to solve the problems of domineering by one ethnic group and creates a balance on the workforce of the nation. In the statement of the problem was to and the meaning of the federal character principle and to know the relationship between federal character and national unity. The research method that was used is the survey method. Questionnaires were administered to civil servants in Owerri. And in other to obtain this the objective, research questions were formulated to guide the major activities of the study.
