THE IMPACT OF BILLBOARD USAGE IN ELECTION CAMPAIGN
ABSTRACT
An assessment of the impact of billboard usage in election campaign. Literatures were reviewed and survey method was also adopted with the use of questionnaire and interview The researcher employed the use of survey method which further employed the use of questionnaires as the primary research instrument. The questionnaire is then divided into Section A and Section B. Section A contained questions aimed at finding out the respondents bio-data while Section B contained questions aimed at finding out the objective of the research. Findings show that the mass media has a great role in ensuring free and fair election. This starts with proper education of the populace through the use of various medium of communication like the print media. Through the print media, billboard usage has become and interestingly famous tool in the hands of politicians and the mass media at large to educate the populace. It is thus recommended that the print media should devote more time to developing the contents of billboard for election campaign.
