Abstract

This project is on The influence of packaging on consumer acceptance of cosmetic products, case study of Soulmate Industries, Aba. This study was on the appraisal of the influence of packaging on consumer acceptance of cosmetic products. In carrying out this project work, the following questions were stated, “Does packaging have a positive relationship with product perception?”. The study subjects for this study were selected using research questions procedures to collect data from manufacturing firms. The primary data, which subsequently was used to test both questions formulated using the research questions. Based on the testing of the questions the following were observed. There is a positive relationship between packaging and product identification. There is a positive relationship between packaging and product perception. Based on the findings of this study, a number of recommendations were made which if followed will lead to the enhanced influence of packaging on consumer acceptance of cosmetic products. More information should be supplied on the package with regard to the after effect, the contents and the direction of use. The packaging should be taking proper care of and educational programmes also. In trying to inform the consumer about the existence of the product through packaging, marketing communication should not be overemphasized because through it consumers are influenced.
