Abstract
Poverty has always been a certain feature of third world countries or developing countries as the case may be. Meaning that Nigeria is not exempted and as such is equally facing the mincing effects or impacts that it has on its constantly growing population as it does on other developing nations. As a result, the government has put in place. certain polices or institutions with the aim of eradicating poverty by providing certain aid for the people in order to have a better life. With this in mind, I seek to carryout a research on the role of financial institution in the eradication of poverty in Kogi State, using Confluence microfinance bank, Lokoja as a case study, in order to ascertain their role, objectives, effectiveness and how their policies are implemented.
