Abstract
The role of mass media in generating awareness against covid-19 – study of Reach FM and Hot FM Owerri.
The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of mass media in generating covid-19 awareness, so therefore this study was drawn from Reach FM and Hot FM using the purposive sampling techniques. Nine research questions were used in the study. The finding of the study showed that mass media has an influence in generating awareness against covid-19, accuracy and balance on the reporters and editors. However, recommendations were made by the researcher that the effect of this research should be extended to other states in Nigeria. However, mass media programme should be the type that educates, entertain, inform and persuade individuals. The research suggested that further study should be made using more refined tools, a large sample size, and other geographical areas that will give this study a wide scope and empirical lift.
