Abstract
This research is on Comparative analysis of the acidity of different brands of folic acid sold in Owerri. Folic acid is used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folate (folate deficiency) and high blood levels of homocysteine (hyperhomocysteinemia). People who are pregnant or might become pregnant take folic acid to prevent serious birth defects such as spina bifida. Folic acid is also used for many other conditions including depression, stroke, decline in memory and thinking skills, and many others. An investigation was carried out regarding the comparative analysis of the acidity of different brand of folic acid sold in Owerri, which includes vitabiotic,cika and emzor. The 1g of the drugs were dissolved in distilled water and . a pH meter was used in to carry out this analysis. The results where Vitabiotic has pH of 5.87, Cika has pH of 6.53 and. Emzor has pH of 6.68. With emzor having the highest acidity level and vitabiotic having the lowest.
