Design and Implementation of Computerized retirement benefit database system

Description

Abstract There are problems encountered during the payment of retirement benefits in public firms, private firms. Using Abdu Gusau polytechnic Talata Mafara as a case study, this research aimed to produce a system that will enable efficient management of retirement allowances to its retired staff. The objectives of setting up the retirement benefits scheme are, therefore, to provide employees of this institution with a better standard of living that is reasonably constant with that which they enjoyed while in service. The problems with the manual system include cases of lost files and records, computing of pension benefit is difficult, location of the file before you can extract needed information from it. This project will help to keep adequate and easy access records of all retired staff that are retired from service and it will calculate the amount of money to been given to every retired staff based on the number of years in service and level attained before retirement. This project work if fully implemented will reduce the workload when calculating the retirement benefits of retirees of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara compared to the present manual system. PHP with the contributions of other software like HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming because of its feasibility in data manipulation and facilities were used to achieve this task.
