Abstract
This project looks into overpopulation and its effects over the social and economic development of Nigeria“ Nkanu-West local government in Enugu state (particularly Akpugo-town) as a case study it also contains some other sub-topic such as the cause of overpopulation, benefits of overpopulation, solutions to the problems of overpopulation and the needs for population study in Nigeria among others found in five(5) different but highly related characters, this research project will significantly serve as a buck of reference to the government of Nigeria, in the information of realizable effective and sound social economic development plans and policies in the country also the students and other researchers who would wish to obtain information in this domain of knowledge the concept of overpopulation and its effects on the social and economic development of Nigeria is necessitated by the recognition of the urgent need to tracked the negative implications of overpopulation as strong anti-social and economic developmental research it carefully implemented, would achieve a tremendous relief to the situation at land.
