Abstract
Students performance in multimedia as a course of study in mass communication (a survey of HND students of mass communication, Federal Polytechnic Nekede). This study x-rays“students’ performance in multimedia as a course of study in mass communication. The study adopted the survey design. In the course of this study, the lecturer and students of the department were involved in the research and their response from them revealed that multimedia resources used in teaching and learning have proven really important and necessary. Despite the challenges of using multimedia in teaching and learning that were unraveled by this study, multimedia was found to improve the retention ability of students, woo students’ interest to the subject being taught, and expose them to the use of modern ICT facilities amongst others. The study further identifies the loopholes in multimedia use in teaching and learning and recommends the best means to tackle these problems and improve mass communication through the use of multimedia resources in the classroom by Mass Communication lecturer
