Abstract
The aim of this project is to determine the use of information and communication technologies (ICTS) in academic libraries. In conclusion, it is believed that there are many digital information resources currently available worldwide including many reference materials in machine-preferable format. Information and communication technology (ICT) are very important tools in academic libraries which enhance teaching, learning, study and research as such their use is important in the libraries of higher institutions of learning. Most modern approach to communication and its use of information requires that computer be linked together for the exchange of message and information as well as access to data sources. The following recommendations were based on the finding of the study. The library should provide enough new technologies for the use of its clients, more multimedia computers and other technologies should be acquired if people using ICT encounter problems like unstable power supply, effort should be made to provision stand-by generators in the library, effort should be made in training and retaining the library staff in order to solve the problems of skilled staff, the library should install antivirus software on the computer for detection and cleaning virus also the library should update and purchase new version of software regularly.
