Abstract

Attitude of male mass communication students towards journalism practice – a study of mass communication students undergraduate (CEAPOLY). The study sought to assess the attitude of male mass communication students towards journalism practice: A study of mass communication students undergraduate CEAPOLY. In order to give perspective to the study, objectives and corresponding research questions were developed. Survey design method approach was adopted by the researcher. This researcher therefore collected primary and secondary data, using questionnaire and published literature on the subject matter. The population of the study was 120 which comprised of all male mass communication students. Data collected through the questionnaire were analyzed using frequency tables. Findings showed the attitude of male mass communication students towards journalism as a career, the challenges male mass communication student’s faces towards journalism practice in Nigeria and hazards associated with involvement of male mass communication students in journalism practice in Nigeria. The study concluded that the study established the low participation of the male journalists, it was observed that good number of trained male journalists go into the profession but very few of them practice the career. The study recommended that the male students of mass communication should be encouraged to take journalism as career, because there are certain roles in journalism that needs them
