Design and implementation of computer-based marketing information system
Abstract Marketing, production, and manufacturing firms have the basic problem of information flow between the various departments within the organization. This research is intended to highlight the role of a computerized marketing information system in Guinness (Nig) Plc compared to the manual system of marketing. To identify the various problems involved in the existing marketing information system of Guinness (Nig) Plc is the purpose of this research and to the proffer solutions to them. Data were collected both by interview methods and observation method. Marketing models were developed in this research as well as the marketing system. Secondly, the study also investigates how Guinness (Nig) Plc manages the marketing information system. Therefore, the researcher will be developing a system that will enable Guinness Nig Plc to manage their market information within their location across Enugu. A design system application that will have the required functionality to manage the market environment is design using Microsoft visual studio as its development environment and VB as its programming language and its database with SQL database this system will have a functionality of validating with the web platform which VB script will be used to achieve the project work which will be implemented at the end of this research work. Finally, computer-based marketing information system is suggested as a solution to more structured, efficient and effective marketing control.
