Press as a vehicle for effective rural development – study of the Idemili local government area. The newspapers are more interested in the tussle and bustles of the urban cities. Therefore little or no effort of the rural dweller. There has not emerged a reliable body of knowledge and tested practical strategies on these issues that can be applied to most rural development situations for success. It is only when urban news is blended with the rural that there is a balance in the flow of information.
