Abstract

This research is on the effect of globalization of information communication technology on the functions of an office manager in an organization – case study of Kogi state polytechnic, Lokoja.

The focus of this project is to examine the effect of globalization of ICT on the functions of office managers in an organization and highlight the effect of globalization and information communication technology ICT in our present generation. It also shows globalization and information communication technology have the entire world change. It further take look at the globalization and information communication technology advantages and disadvantages definition of ICT, hence globalization and ICT are the common working tools for high performance in an organization and office managers profession. The total population was 96 office managers and executive office managers while the sample size was 25 office managers and 20 executives. The method of data analysis was percentage out of which inferences were drawn. The study was conducted to make certain findings which include that information communication technology facilitated the globalization process and that word processing skills is the major information communication skills expected of an office manager in the organization. Therefore, the researcher recommended that organizations and office managers should have proper maintenance of information communication technology provided and that organization should give their staff adequate training on how to use information communication technology in discharging their duties in the organization.
