Abstract
The role of public relations within formal and informal organizations cannot be overemphasized. This research work set out to study an assessment of the role of police public relations units in the enhancement of community policy in Nigeria, using Kogi state police command as a case study. In order to achieve this, the research project is divided into five chapters. Chapter one deals with the introduction aspect of the study, statement of problems, objectives of the study, significance of the study, scope and limitation of the study, research questions and some definitions of terms associated with the study. Chapter two revealed the related literature. It is a review of related literature on public relations and community policing. Chapter three deals with the research methodology such as research design, area of the study, population of the study, sample and sampling techniques, sources of data collection, validity and reliability of instrument and method of data analysis. Chapter four of this research also discuss data presentation and analysis. Chapter five reveals the summary, conclusion and recommendations.
