Abstract
This research project focuses on the role of the Arewa24 Dan Birni program in rural development. A study of Unguwar Dansarai Gezawa Kano State The study attempted to determine whether or not the Arewa24“Dan Birni” program has been impactful to the people of Unguwar Dansarai and to what extent. The objectives of the study are to determine how the Arewa24“dan birni” program makes the people in the study area practice or maintain good health and prevent themselves from diseases, especially through cleanliness, and also to determine their perception and level of awareness toward the program. The study adopted agenda-setting theory as its theoretical framework. The subjects of the study were youths and adults among the people of Unguwar Dansarai. Using the survey method, the study utilizes questionnaires to solicit responses from the respondents. The findings of the study proved that the Arewa24“dan birni” program plays a positive role in community development. The study therefore recommends that television programs place emphasis on programs pertaining to health education. They should frequently consider the issue of hygiene when setting an agenda for the public..
