Abstract
This project or research study is aimed at investigating the contributions of co-operative societies to the economic development of Nigeria. A selected co-operative societies in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State were used to carry out this study for better understanding. Many literatures were reviewed in the course of validating the study. A fourteen items research questionnaire were also designed to gather responses from respondents. Moreso, a sample size of fifty (50) respondents was also selected. The questionnaire was well structured in such a way that it will be easy to determined the opinions of the respondents. At the end of collecting the filled questionnaire the responses were all tested using the statistical tool of percentage. From these findings, relevant and vital recommendations were made.
